Position Title:        Software Application Tester/QA Analyst

Location:               Wethersfield, CT area     

Relocation:            No – 3-to-6-month position.

Salary:                   $40 to $45 per hour – D.O.E.

SUMMARY:

 

Our client, a well-known financial organization, is implementing a new financial computer application.  They have asked Hallmark to help them find a Software Application Tester with QA experience to help them test this new system.  You will work with the vendor and the internal employees testing suspected bugs and referring them to the vendor for remediation.  This is expected to be a 3-to-6-month position working on-site from 8:30 to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for overall success of user acceptance testing (UAT), including results verification and release. Ensures all user acceptance tests are conducted and documented according to standards. Identifies and documents system deficiencies.
  • Work closely with/collaborate with project managers, software developers, and internal business SMEs
  • Identifies, creates, and executes the appropriate test plans, cases, and metrics to assure the developed application conforms to acceptance criteria
  • Maintain testing records, document and report discovered problems, bugs, enhancements, and other issues
  • Create quality UAT testing schedules and manage execution of planned UAT activities
  • Monitor UAT progress; eliminate obstacles, report progress and recommendations to project team
  • Report and track defects in the JIRA defect tracking system

 

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • 3+ years of experience testing business application software
  • Good understanding of IT systems and technical architecture
  • Knowledge/experience in testing Finance applications preferred
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing
  • Attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products, e.g. Word, Excel etc.
  • Defect/bug management and familiarity with JIRA defect tracking system
